Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company
Auxiliary History
The Ladies' Auxiliary was started in 1953, but no doubt it began with an informal group of extraordinary ladies who supported the firefighters as they fulfilled their mission.
The Auxiliary later became formalized as a non-profit organization which thrives on volunteer labor. Auxiliary members are now males and females who assist firefighters. They prepare and serve delicious foods and snacks on Bingo Nights (Tuesdays at 6 PM). They also serve refreshments and snacks at our Open House on the first Sunday of October. The Auxiliary also sponsors two blood drives every year, pizza sale on Good Friday, Easter Egg Hunt for our Township children, Pictures with Santa and many other activities to raise funds and support the Fire Company and other charitable causes in Monroe County.
The Auxiliary meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 PM at the firehouse on Route 715 in Reeders. Members do not need to be related to any firefighters to be in the Auxiliary. Membership is open to anyone 14 years or older.
Mission Statement
The purpose of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Comapny Auxiliary is to provide support to the Fire Company and to promote goodwill and cooperation between the citizens of Jackson Township and the Fire Company.
