Boy Scouts of America
Troop 80
42 Years of Scouting
1976 to 2018
After 42 years of scouting, Troop 80 was unable to re-charter due to lack of scouts and was forced to close its doors on December 31, 2018. It is by far most a said and difficult thing to have to do. I have been in scouting for 16 years every since my son joined as a Tiger Scout. He eventually went on to become an Eagle Scout. Scouting was one of my high points in life. Going on camping trips, outdoor cooking, summer camp with daily naps, teaching, learning things myself and spending time with my son. I was asked to join the Eagle Board and have done so. My scouting journey continues.
“Be Prepared... the meaning of the motto is that a scout must prepare himself by previous thinking out and practicing how to act on any accident or emergency so that he is never taken by surprise.” Sir Robert Baden-Powell
“We never fail when we try to do our duty, we always fail when we neglect to do it.”
Sir Robert Baden-Powell
